Yes its exactly what it sounds like. Its been just over a year now since the beginning of Paint Me Sunny. Aren’t we all excited?
This is rather a short post since I’m leaving for Paris in like an hour and should probably be doing other things such as looking for my sunglasses. But just a quick update to mention that I’ve started my summer project and will hopefully have some stuff thrown together by the end of August. Time to be positive and just go for it.
I’ll leave you with this image of my desk for no other reason than it makes me smile. This was the desk in my room up until a few months ago and I used to scribble all over it. Yay.
And now I say “au revoir” and if I don’t come back with a new beret I won’t be happy. 🙂

Ok, well actually only two deadlines, but thats still a lot for a Friday afternoon.
Last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic with art, ok I know I say that all the time but this is my blog and I’m allowed to exaggerate, but yeah it was more hectic than usual. After two previous projects of feeling a bit ‘bleh’ about my outcomes, I decided to really go for it.
This first post is a project we were given 6 weeks to do at home in our own time. We were given a piece of white A1 paper and a Bic Fine pen and told to grow a drawing.
Thats really all I have to say about that 🙂
Well thats me back in Falkirk, won’t return to Dundee for about a month. I’m gonna miss my flatmates, we’ve had such a great semester, its been amazing fun. I’m glad to be back though, it’ll be nice to spend time with family and old friends.
Theres actually nothing like being back in my old room, painting and listening to the Beatles on vinyl. I can just tell this weeks gonna be good. Gonna paint, shop, and be merry 🙂
Oh and this is a doodle I promised as tradition…
It’s nice to take a break from having a set project. I always keep a sketchbook with me, simply just to doodle random thoughts and images into. It’s more casual than a sketchbook really, a sketchbook is a tool of research for something greater. My doodlebook just lets me express whatevers going on in my head.
Today, it was Harry Potter. Usually I’d be one of those people that queue up at midnight to see Harry Potter as soon as it comes out. I’ve been disorganised this time round, I think my enthusiasm faded a bit with the long wait for this movie. But I’ll be seeing it at the imax tomorrow. Yay 🙂
I found myself doodling Albus when i was supposed to be tidying my room. Just a ten minute sketch with my favourite liner pen. My Dumbledore’s based on the Richard Harris portrayal. Gambon never really seemed right to me, too aggressive. Though in the book of the Half-Blood Prince, Dumbledore becomes more serious, so maybe Gambon will be more suited in this film.
