interAction(s) Away

Liam, Lada and I have had our project interActions(s) running in the Matthew Cabinet at DJCAD since February, so it was weird having to take it all down today.

Here’s a final snap.

I’m glad to have been asked to take part in the visual dialogue. The experience added further depth to my work this semester and contributed greatly to my enjoyably busy schedule.

I’ve kept records of all the interactions between Artists A and B and the curator, both online and in book form. I would site this as a highlight of my art school career and am sad to see the cabinet blank white again.

Lada Wilson, curator of the event, photocopied and printed all of my typed responses. She presented a pile of them on a table and invited the public to join in Artist B and I’s interaction.

interAction(s) Preview

I’m involved in a project at the moment called interAction(s). The exhibition is an ongoing and constantly changing show of work. The opening was Thursday 28th February and it runs ’til 23rd March. Here’s some info;

ia
interAction(s) is a project/exhibition curated by Lada Wilson, Fine Art student and member of the Student Curatorial team. interAction(s) consists of an evolving assemblage of texts and images. It is the presentation of a ‘process’; it is an ongoing work-in-progress.

This exhibition was inspired by the work of two artists – Rachael Disbury and Liam Dunn and the chosen site, the Matthew Cabinet, which creates a perfect venue for a three-week long artistic interaction. The two artists will create a visual dialogue: they will create visual poetry by reacting to each other’s work. Each day Rachael will write a text, each night Liam will create an artwork inspired by that text.
This is a Student Curatorial Team ProjectMatthew Cabinet is at the rear of the Matthew Building, DJCAD on Level 5.

Liam, Lada and I are contracted into an agreement regarding this project. The preview event saw a performance event of the signing of the contracts and the first instalment of work by myself, ‘Artist A’.
